Chris Denicola is the founder of Prism Science and Santeer. Denicola entered the cannabis and hemp space in 2014 after holding various roles in big pharma, focusing on quality control and chromatography. His lifelong passion for chemistry led him to launch Santeer, a science and outcome-driven CBD brand that utilizes technology instead of harmful chemicals to achieve record-breaking solubility. Additionally, Chris has extensive experience in international product training and market development for chemistry driven products.

About the talk

A whole science exists which quantifies the different ways in which drugs interact with our bodies. Pharmacokinetics (PK) quantifies where we can find a drug from the moment it’s ingested, to the moment it is gone. Summarized by the neat acronym ADME (Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism, and Excretion), PK tells us how much of the compound reaches the target tissue. In the case of cannabinoids, this may be the central nervous system, the GI tract, nerve endings, or cutaneous vasculature. These parameters are separate from Bioactivity, determined by the branch called Pharmacodynamics, which tells us how much a targeted receptor or signaling system is influenced in the presence of the drug that’s there.
