About the talk
It is no secret that the over-prescribing of opioid medications, particularly OxyContin™, has led to a national crisis which has come to be known as the Opioid Epidemic. Prompted from recommendations issued by professional medical associations, concern of punitive actions taken by State medical boards, and at times, even monetary incentives, Physicians were encouraged to prescribe this more addictive form of pain medication than was otherwise necessary. With the explosion of cannabidiol (CBD) products on the market, many suffering from chronic pain have started using this natural alternative with much success? Is it time for medical professionals to discuss and recommend CBD as a viable option for patients addicted to opioids or suffering from chronic pain?

For years, I watched my
husband struggles every single day with a concoction of massive doses of opioids including Vicodin Fentanyl and Percocet. I was sent to one position after another in two different states.
