Much like how space seemed to have endless destinations for exploration during the latter half of the 20th century, today, the cannabinoids of cannabis seem to constantly expand... And it is just the beginning. This mysterious plethora of chemical compounds are like keys, each their own composition, and t in their own door that leads to yet more exciting medical applications. As we begin to better understand these medical benets, we also realize each that each cannabinoid canaect individuals dierently, and that the knowledge we have to gain is even more cryptic, and diverse. Where will this industry lead? Genetic counseling of cannabinoid treatment? Products manufactured for the individual? Which diseases are waiting on research to unlock the treatment potentials of these captivating cannabinoids? This panel will explore some of these burning questions.

Ms. Hinaxi Patel holds a Bachelor’s in Science in Chemistry from UC Santa Barbara. She is a California State Licensed Clinical Chemist. Ms. Patel has over 12 years of extensive experience in high complexity testing areas of clinical and analytical chemistry (LCMS/MS, GCMS, HPLC, and Flow Cytometry). She develops methods, performs validation studies, and sets up high complexity platforms for clinical toxicology laboratories. Currently, Ms. Patel acts as a technical consultant developing methods for new and existing laboratories in Southern California. In her capacity she sets up, validates, runs, analyzes, and reports results for Clinical Toxicology utilizing LCMS/MS testing platforms. She follows stringent protocols set for by CLIA guidelines and other federal accrediting bodies such as CAP. At Brightside Scientific Inc, Ms. Patel will be overseeing the technical and analytical portion of testing and ensuring accuracy in the areas of Cannabinoid Potency Testing, Terpene Profiling, Pesticide Screening, Residual Solvent Testing, Heavy Metal Testing, Moisture Content/Water Activity and many other platforms. In addition to being heavily involved in the analytical phase of testing, Ms. Patel also develops and implements Quality Management Systems to meet CLIA/CAP guidelines (State/Federal Regulations).View the profile
Ray Mirzabegian founded the California Chapter of the Realm of CaringTM Foundation. He Launched an organic Cannabis Tinctures company called CanniatricTM, strictly catering to the medical cannabis pediatric patients. He is also the President of CW California Inc which is the official Distributor of Charlotte’s Web CBD along with several other leading CBD products in California. After graduating from the American College of Optics in 1996, he spent 15 years managing medical offices while concurrently spending the last 4 years as a professor at his alma mater. Ray’s involvement with the Cannabis industry began in 2012 following his interest in the well-known Dr. Sanjay Gupta CNN documentary Weed about a component of the Cannabis/Hemp plant called Cannabidiol (CBD), and it’s use in pediatric Epilepsy. He started researching, testing, growing and extracting different strains that were high in CBD to help his now 15 years old daughter Emily who has been diagnosed with Dravet syndrome. The countless hours of research and the Dr. Sanjay Gupta CNN documentary lead him to Colorado where he met the Stanley Brothers and discovered Charlotte’s WebTM. Frustrated by legal limitations and restrictions for safe CBD access and inspired by the success of the pediatric patients and families, he quit his career and got to work. Jake is a co-founder at Treehouse and serves as the Chief Scientific Officer. As CSO he leads a team of chemists working to lead the industry in cannabinoid isolation and formulation. Jake obtained his PhD in Organic Chemistry from Yale University as an NSF Graduate Research Fellow, and his B.S. in Chemistry with Honors from Villanova University. Jake’s research focused on medicinal chemistry and the development of new spectroscopic methods, fields in which he has authored multiple papers.View the profile
Robby is the recipient of a PhD in Organic Chemistry from Vanderbilt University, an MS in both Chemistry and Biochemistry from Villanova University, and a BS in Biology with Honors from James Madison University.
