Kyle Boyar
Field Applications Scientist at Medicinal Genomics

Kyle Boyar is a cannabis scientist with a background in neurobiology and analytical chemistry who has been working in the industry for six years. Kyle received his Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience from the University of California Santa Cruz and was previously employed as a Laboratory Manager for SC Laboratories. In addition to his work with Medicinal Genomics he also serves as the Vice Chair and Scholarship Committee Chair for the American Chemical Society’s Cannabis Chemistry Subdivision. Kyle’s current focuses in cannabis science relate to testing methodologies, cannabis genomics, and product formulation.

Anyway, so we'll start with a quick intro about medicinal genomics and what we do and we'll jump into the technology that we talked about today, which is called UPCR and goes into a little bit more detail about how UPCR works and the mechanics of it. And then we'll jump into the different applications of it. So one of them being gender testing the other would be determining different types of cannabis plants are types of one through four and then also know how

these tests can be used to screen for different plant pathogens and breed resistant strains and then we'll dive in a little bit about sampling techniques and things like that and we'll also talk about kind of the next step to this which is using quantitative PCR and how that can also be beneficial. So we have that were talking about today is simple present absence but when you get quantitative, there's a bit more that you can do with that type of data self. It's a little bit about Medicinal Genomics we are a leader in campus safety testing. We're really a pioneering the way in microbial

testing for cannabis especially on the molecular side of things. We also are a leader in cannabis genetics so we put out one of the best reference genomes the world to date. So now we have fairly complete cannabis. Do you know we've got it all the symbols in the nice chromosomes and everything and it's a bit bigger than we thought so it's there when I was busy irritating that genome and figuring out what it all does and then, of course, I've got her point across so you're all the different solutions we offer here mainly could be focusing on that early
